Our client is currently in search of a seasoned stores person to join the ranks of a well-established, family-owned business situated in the vibrant Manukau area. We are specifically seeking a versatile individual with a solid grasp of warehousing procedures, as the role demands a candidate capable of handling a diverse range of responsibilities. Our client places a strong emphasis on getting things right the first time, setting the expectation for their team to consistently meet the highest standards and take pride in their dedicated work. The right candidate will receive comprehensive training and guidance to excel in their role. Previous experience as a storeman and supervisor is considered advantageous. This is a full-time permanent position.
Shift times are Monday to Friday 7.00 am to 4.30pm. our client offers flexible start and finish times for a suitable candidate and offers potential overtime depending on workload.
Duties:
- Operate a counterbalance efficiently.
- Locate and distribute freight as required.
- Pick and pack orders and lifting reasonable weights up to 20kg when required.
- Accurately complete orders from a manual pick list.
- Load and unload containers manually and with machinery when required.
- Loading and unloading of trucks with a counterbalance and organizing pallets manually.
- Provide excellent customer service when addressing customer queries or request in a timely manner.
- Conduct work while adhering to health and safety practices.
- Accurately document goods received.
- Communicate with departments in a professional and time effective manner.
- Keep all documents or records up to date with accuracy and efficiency using computer-based systems.
- Organize and maintain facilities.
Requirements for the role:
- Previous experience as a storeman. previous experience a supervisor would be advantageous.
- Have a valid counterbalance certificate with over one years’ experience.
- Hold a full class 1 driver’s license. Holding a class 2 or a DG and F endorsement is advantageous.
- Be physically fit and healthy and be willing to do moderate lifting.
- Have previous Picking and packing experience.
- Have previous experience in Freight logistics is advantageous but not essential.
- Represent the company in a professional and friendly manner.
- Always keep a high standard of dress and presentation.
